| Arriving at St Margaret’s Hope. Drive up through the village until you arrive at the main road, the A961 to Kirkwall. Turn left, after two miles you cross the fourth Churchill Barrier onto the island of Burray. Continue through the village for about one mile. On your right you will see a sign to Littlequoy, turn left. After one mile you will see our Waaness B&B sign at the top of the drive. | |||||||||
| Arriving
at Stromness. Leaving the ferry terminal turn right and proceed along the
A965 to Kirkwall. As you descend into Kirkwall you will see a filling station,
turn right at this junction. Continue past the school and supermarket until
you arrive at a small roundabout, turn right. As you climb out of Kirkwall you
pass Highland Park Distillery. Continue on the A961 to St Mary’s. Through the
village turn right following the main road across the Churchill Barriers. A
mile after crossing the third barrier you will have the sea on your right and
Echna Loch on you left, As you round the bend you will see the Littlequoy sign
on your left, turn right, and Waaness is just one mile along the road. Arriving at Kirkwall Airport. Leaving the airport turn left onto the A960, after about three miles you will see a large school on your right, turn right at this junction and follow the sign to the Barriers. After about three miles you arrive at the First Churchill Barrier, turn left towards Burray. |
